How long have you lived in Carrick?
I have lived in Carrick since 2006, when I married into the community. My wife’s family has owned the same home in the neighborhood for several generations.
What do you like most about Carrick?
I like how central Carrick is, with everything in the city being a short drive away. I also appreciate how the neighborhood is on one of the most popular bus lines in the county so public transportation is a credible option. The library branch is a gem and the neighborhood has energetic people that are excited to work make the area grow into its potential.
Why did you want to be on the Carrick Community Council Board of Directors?
I wanted to do what I can to help guide the neighborhood into the future and work with the organization to help serve the needs of the community.
What professional, leadership, community involvement, or board experience have you had?
I do volunteer work as Scoutmaster of Troop 614, which meets at Stewart Ave Lutheran Church. I am also a Red Cross volunteer, where I serve as a team leader for their Disaster Action Team as well as in several other capacities. As a member of the Pittsburgh City-Wide Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), I also do volunteer work related to emergency preparation and planning.
What part of the CCC Strategic Plan most interests you?
I am most interested in Capacity, specifically with community development and involvement.
